Due to circumstances beyond their control... Patrick Mitchell and Billy Wilmot were unable to join us on line as originally scheduled, however, apologies have been extended, and they have agreed to come on line on Thursday March 18th at 2 pm.
Last year Marcia completed an interview with Patrick Mitchell of Quashi Surfboards and Bill (Mystic) Wilmot of the Quashi Int'l Surfboard Team out of Jamaica and Jamnesia.
"Since Jamaican shaper Patrick Mitchell started shaping surfboards over ten years ago, it has been his commitment to create custom surfboards using only the best materials and products available.
Realizing that there were many good surfers in the Caribbean who could not get quality equipment to ride, he decided to start Quashi Surfboards and create a strong base where few had gone before...Quashi is now the official board sponsor for the Jamaican National Team, Jamnesia Surf Club, and the Jamaica Surfing Association.
Quashi Surfboards are tested and ridden in various conditions by team riders in places like California, Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, Barbados and Africa. QUASHI SURFBOARDS, JAMAICAN BUILT...TESTED ALL OVER THE WORLD."

Patrick and Billy are back with us to update their progress over the past year, and we're here to encourage them for their upcoming trials in Ecuador at the end of March! Of course if we're really nice, they'll come back to personally deliver their results on the difficult Ecuadorian waters!

The word conjures up images of sun, sea, sand and palm trees, bikini-clad peroxide blondes, Hawaii, California, the 60's, hippies, drugs, wild beach parties, Gidgit, the Beach Boys, and the list goes on and on. The sport of surfing originated in the islands of Hawaii many hundreds of years ago and now it has become a giant economic sports empire headed by the United States and Australia, as well as Hawaii. Fortunately the waves of the world are not restricted to these few countries; perfect surfing waves break on reefs, points, river mouths, sand bars and beaches all over the world, including Jamaica."
