"ANTHONY C. WINKLER is the prolific writer of novels, textbooks, biographies, short stories and newspaper articles. Jamaican-born-and-raised, Winkler immigrated to the United States in 1962. He attended California State University at Los Angeles, where he received B.A. and M.A. degrees in English.
Winkler's first screenplay was "The Lunatic," adapted from his 1987 comic novel. A feature film, produced by Chris Blackwell, was released in 1991.

His other novels are "The Painted Canoe", "The Great Yacht Race" and "The Duppy." He wrote the biographies "Going Home to Teach" and "Bob Marley: an Intimate Portrait by His Mother".

Winkler collaborated on seventeen college textbooks on the subjects of writing, poetry, speech, rhetoric and essays. He has been a contributor to The Los Angeles Times and The Atlanta Constitution.
