Sorry, I did not mean for you to quote figures. I was interested in a more general response. Is treatment of cancer of a vital organ more difficult than others? Maybe this is still too rate specific.

A bit late... but let me try and answer your question....

Some cancers are more resistant to treatment. That may be true of some vital organs and other parts of our body that we may not consider "vital." But again... it depends on what the stage the cancer is, the person's overall health, the available treatment and the individual.

In addition...

There are some cancers that have a really high number of deaths. For example... Lung cancer (very vital organ) is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths. So is prostate cancer. The success of treating these cancers also depend on the general health of the person and stage of diagnosis.

Alright King dahjah -

Male breast cancer symptoms may include: a breast lump, swelling, skin dimpling or puckering, the nipple turning inward, redness or scaling of the nipple or breast skin, and yes a "nipple that leaks".

But having these symptoms do not mean that you have cancer... it means you should "go check your doctor!"

I have a spin off...Although the sons do not have a risk of getting the kind she died from, could the abnormal cells show up elsewhere in their system?

I am sorry, but I am a bit at a loss. Are you referring to cervical cancer?

Do you mean if the abnormal cells found in the mother's cervix can show up elsewhere in the body of her sons?

If that is what you are referring to...

The virus (HPV) that may cause cervical is passed from one person to another through sexual intercourse. So in that case... the sons are safe.

The abnormal cells are not passed on to her sons.

Does that clarify for you? Check out the American Cancer Society for detailed information on cervical cancer.

I was asking about the cells showing up based on your earlier response that cancer is basically "uncontrolled abnormal growth of cells".
