I see you mention that funding is one of the challenges facing the team. What efforts are being used to raise funds? Are any of these efforts online? Do any of the royalties from the movie go back to the team to assist with funds?How can Jamaicans abroad assist?

Was their coach really a disgraced ex-bobsledder who had lost his medals?

Did they really do as well as they did in the movie (sans crash)?

Was the crash really the result of a faulty sled, or just a mistake in driving?

The Book came out in December 2002. It has three major sections. The first deals with Jamaica's outstanding record in sports and puts the bobsleigh team in context. The second simply tells the story from beginning until 2002 and the last explores the philosolphy of the team and what we learned from specific experiences. This part is particularly motivating and can be used in any field where acheivement against the odds is desired.
In 20 years I see the team as a self sustaining sport franchishe which continues to be highly competitive in the sport and medal contenders.

The movie represented the story. It was not a documentary - there was substantial creative license.

The team was made up of soldiers and a sprinter. I was the sprinter. The summer trials were actually after the Winter Games not before as depicted in the movie..

The coach was American but he was not a disgraced driver.

We were not in medal contention but we did have the 7th fastest start time which is impressive for a debutante.

It's a bit of a conflict but more importantly the size sponsorhip which we require may not fit into VMBS' overall strategy.
