First of all, there are some absolutely wonderful people living in trenahc Town. I taught adult literacy for a while there and it was great working with them..

I however beleive in personal responsibility. Yuh can't teck one next man finga show God... you have to be ressponsible for your own actins and stop blaming it on society, politicians, your parents etc etc. Many come from the same circumstances and some do well, some dont.

In all of this however, people need to get a sense that yes they can do it.. rather that you are from a certain are so life will never be better. My good frind Blacka Ellis is from Trench Town, and he is a really positive person who has made a difference in manylives.

Not at al. People are people, and I do not go in for stereotypes. I have had the benefit of living studyin and working in several countries and continetns and my travels have taught me to resist stereotypes. As a Jamaican who has never smokedganja, never consumed a drop of alcohol( I mean, never had a glass of wine, never had a beer ect, and who gets drunk on Christmas cake).. I visti countries and by virtue of being Jamaican, people assume I must have some good marijuana on me. Hence I hate stereotypes.

Therefore I don't think of poeple in the ghetto as ghetto people. The middle class has far worse social ills going on, but they do a better job of covering up

We have a group of students who do fundraising for 6 - 8 months then dedicate their winter holdiay each year to helping build small homes, play structures, painting schools etc, in Kingston and they have found that the community pitches in to help quite a bit, and a lot of those that are benefitting directly, just needed that little 'fresh start'

My favourtie topics??/ well just how ridiculous we are in nyamming up our soul case over foolishness. Also I consider myself a descriptive rather that a prescriptive writer. I dont tell peole how to live their lives, I don't prescribe behaviour. SDince i like to observe, I describe what I see around me.. i hold themirror up to society to allow it to examine its foibles and allow them to laugh at themselves while themessage goes across. Comedy can be used to send really serious messages,without having the audience / listener puttheir backs up.

My wonderful son is two years and two months and I am thoroughly enjoying motherhood. I am very active and I am a get down and dirty kind of mom. He climbs and falls, he gets a bloody nose a bruised knee... but all in the game. I am not a worry wart, and he has got to enjoy life to the fullest
