Beluved, I don't think you're harsh...you're calling things as you see them and that is your right. I don't see things the same way as you and others do.... Clearly....and I ALSO call things exactly as I see them.

Also, I don't DO pity parties. I keep myself MUCH more active and busy than most. I do vent though ..nothing wrong with that.

Still haven't had a satisfactory answer to some of the questions I have raised. Don't know why Black women are so willing to buy the "content to be single" line when they see women of other races moving EASILY and QUICKLY into relationships. Guess it's one of those things I will never understand. If it works fi onoo all power to you. It doesn't work for me.

As I mentioned before. I'm re-reading 'Fit To Be Tied' One of the points that stuck with me went something like

An unhappy single woman who looks for completeness in a mate will end up being an incomplete unhappy married woman.

I find that as one 'problem' solves itself, another one steps up to priority status. A teenager is concerned about acceptance, when that is satsified, next comes finding a date for the prom, when that is satsified there's the issue of a steady partner, then this is followed by a life mate, then marriage itself has its own challenges and the list goes on ad infinitum. No relationship is devoid of challenges

There is no magic potion that is ingested when the vows are made. Two persons who want to spend the rest of their lives together must be committed to making it work and at times, the cost is great.

Self-evaluation is key. Where we are and where we need to be needs to be looked at. I am TIRED of persons telliing me I can't be happy cause I have no one to share my life with

Reminds of 'friends' I had in College. When results are out they cannot rejoice with you. They sulk because you passed and they didn't My happiness is not conditional upon the success or failue of another...I draw strength from the Almighty.

The love God gave me was not given to me exclusively for my spouse/mate/sweetheart/SO. There is so much to be done, so many needing love and attention, so many needing a shoulder...

I am shutting up now. That is already too much from me for one month. I think it was this same Bill Hybels who had said...

The most unhappy person is not the one who ends up unmarried, it's the one who married the wrong person

I have taken a new approach to life.I will not be afraid to confess the blessings of God inmy life... I will not be any blood sausage to the leeches who insist on sucking my joy...I'll simply move on and allow a professional to handle it. My level of training does not allow me to effectively deal with certain 'cases'.

I am not the Microsoft Patch. I cannot fix everything.

Sometimes our 'greatest need' causes us to be ungrateful, selfish, greedy, miserable, whiny, tormented, intolerant/intolerable, blind and bitter . There are things we have that others are dying for but we don't see that. Our main focus is where we want to be.

Maybe we ought to pause for a while and count the blessings in our lives and be thankful for what we have. When we spend all our energies in search of the elusive dream, the attainment of it may bring greater disappointment than it's absence caused.

Well yes and no. At least I am going out and dating on a regular basis. Beats the heck out of sitting at home.

Well let's see...

- a barrel full of morphing toads

- a couch potato
- some BEAUTIFUL dinners at nice restaurants
- afternoon teas
- evenings at the theatre
- polo games
- movies
- nights out dancing
- drives to the country
- golf lessons

(((H)AnnA(H))) you made some very valid points. Sometimes many of us garb ourselves in the cloak of Christianity, and denounce everything that's not to our liking or desire. We lean so heavily on tradition and the advice of relatives or close friends that we make the Word of God non-effective in our lives. One of the things I constantly ask of myself is how I will respond shoiuld I be asked of the Lord what have I done with my time and talents here on earth. Will I say, Lord I was so preoccupied with this one thing that I just couldn't be bothered with anything else. And while we are on the subject Lord, how dare You not provide me with this thing? What we don't realize is that whenever we question the will of the Lord, especially that which is so plainly illustrated in His Word, we crucify our Saviour anew. Thus, whenever we have erred so far that we can no longer view the silhouette of the Cross, we should really examine ourselves, our lives - that is if we are still able to discern that still, quiet voice of the Lord. My hope, however, is that we do not become a stumbling block to others in our moments of 'need' and 'preoccupation'. Some of us who have fallen so far away without seeing our error continue to garb ourselves in this cloak of Christianity, not realizing that we are wearing the form of godliness but denying the power of the Lord in our lives.

You know, when you think about it what it boils down to, truly is about, is salvation. I pray that this will soon be revealed to many of us...

I read last night You know you're surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation. You let go and let God work. The bible says "Surrender yourself to the Lord, and wait patiently for him.".
