I finally got through to a friend in Little Bay this morning!

Uncle Sams is still standing, although his kitchen went down and some of the poles on his newer additions. Nothing that can't be fixed, it's gonna be OK! Even my little cottage down on Sams Property is still standing! (added bonus, I had resigned to it being lost but all I cared about was Sams Livelihood, the bar/restaurant)...

I did find the answer to my yesterdays question about Lando and Sunset Cove, all is fine! Patty is a Happy Lady!

I have finally breathed a huge sigh of releif and can go back to normal, whatever that is!

Big up everyone who has posted information on this and other threads. With the phone service to Little Bay so sparodic, this board has been my lifeline!

this may be old news to some a unnu areddy, but Digical network is up. Got thru to voicemail yesterday and a LIVE - THANK GOD voice this morning....

and for them of you who know - yes it was "him". :love: He fine, house & yaad fine, new second story made it through - yaad just minus some trees and vegetation, cats & dogs all fine too....

I just talked to Terry at Beach House Villas... she said that their property did pretty good and that for the most part the whole beach area was doing ok.However the westend was hit really hard.

OK so I just got back last night. I had gone to see Oniel for his Bday last week and got stuck for the hurricane. Yes west end very bad - a tree fell into the cottage we were in but Oneils place is ok.

We moved to coc la palm for the duration of the storm. Nuff damage but everyone healthly.

Spoke to my sister this morning. She's in Orange Tree Bay Country Club. At least 50% of the roofs have been damaged. There has been some flooding, but nothing too bad. Mildew will be a problem. They have no electricity yet, no running water, but the phones are starting to work again. The store nearby was expecting a truckload of water this morning, which is something that they all need.

They said that it was a really terrible thing to go through. 2 days and 2 nights of it. They feel blessed that no lives were lost, though. They are exhausted from lack of sleep, and there's a major mess to clean up.

The next tropical system is making them very nervous.

They are able to get two radio stations: one from MoBay and one from Kingston, so that's where they're getting the news. They said that Negril was harder hit than Kingston. There has been a lot of damage at the hotels, but they haven't been there, so they haven't seen it personally. That's just what they're hearing.

Right now, they're just waiting for the electricity to come back on so they can start getting back to normal.

I talked to Kevin today and he's fine. His house is still there and fully in tact. He lost a couple of solar panels and most of his trees are gone/broken, but they did their job by taking the hit insted of the house.

He walked home from the Yacht Club during the height of the storm on Saturday and his land was knee-deep in water, but he got 6" more sand built up around the house. He said he'll be cleaning up and replanting for a while, but everything will be fine.

I haven't heard back from Steve. I really don't expect to. Lost Beach is going down the tubes FAST and I doubt we will be returning in the future... but that's another story.

I don't know who David is and I talked to him before I read your post so I couldn't ask, but it seemed he didn't know much about anybody else. Sorry.

I'm glad to hear that Kevin came out OK, sad about the trees though, but he planted them once, he can plant them again, he did such a beautiful job! Sorry to hear about Lost beach losing the roofs but at theast the structures made it...

Has anyone heard any news about the highway from MoBay to Negril? I am a California travel agent and my specialty and favorite place in the worls is Jamaica. I am still planning on take a trip there next Thursday and was wondering if there was any news on the road. How about Sandals Negril? I read about Ricks, Mariners, and Hedonism -- what a tragedy. I just hope and pray that my family and friends at Sandals Negril are ok.

Heard from Sheffield today.(breathing easier) Everyone is well, the house is still standing,the roof is still on and more trees and debrie to clean up than anything, no electric or water,
Part of Alfreds in Negril washed away. They are closed. Waiting on a call back to get more details.
Heard from Whitehouse this morning also. No lost of life, "amen" still a lot of clean up and replanting.
Trying to reach others there, of course getting thru is differcult.

Thanks to everyone for shareing your info it was greatly needed.
