1)My journey to Africa was strictly to satisfy a lifelong dream. I had no intentions to write, in fact I didn't even take notes! The writing was all to do with destiny!
2)My advise for wanabee writers? Just do it! But be prepared to make sacrifices because it is not an easy thing. Read, read, read! A true writer reads more than he/she writes.
3) Getting published by a traditional publisher is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But do not be put off. These days there are many other ways to get published if you really want to. And by the way, it does not matter whether you are black, Jamaican or female.

There are several people who inspire me to pursue dreams but to vaying degrees.
My grandmother was probably the greatest one. She was solid, consistent and caring. I do admire Oprah a lot too.

I haven't read your book (yet), but have it on my list of books to read.

My questions (maybe asked by others)

1. What prompted you to go to Africa?

2. Was it for spiritual reason, or just a need to connect to the land where our forefathers came.

3. Where in Africa did you travel?

Btw, thank to Jamaicans.com I now have another Jamaican author's book to read.

Publishing a book changed my life. It has added a new dimension to my life; I now move in a different circle; I've met hundreds of people that I would not have met; I became a Speaker after writing the book and now deliver speaches across Canada & the USA--never did that before. But most of all, it's the wonderful new friendships that I have made and the old ones that have been rekindled. (I now know for sure who my real friends are!)
