I guess i would say encourage children to read from an early age, and expose them to the work of Caribbean writers. The books are not always easy to get, but we need to develop better ways of distribution to our far-flung communities. Any more Itah Sadus out there?

In Jamaica itself there are excellent heritage resources but lack of funding sometimes curtails their activities. Perhaps yardies abroad should try and develop ways of helping to preserve this heritage at home and tap into it.

I think all of us as adults need to pay more than lip service to our heritage and really take time out to learn more about where we are coming from. Only then can we pass on knowledge to our children.

I certainly think this site and others like yours are an excellent way to go.
