UPDATE: Iraqi security forces say they have stormed a Catholic church in Baghdad and freed hostages held by gunmen.
It was not immediately clear how many people were in the church and if there were any casualties. Reports said around 40 hostages were in the church.
The attackers were reportedly demanding the release of al-Qaeda members imprisoned in Iraq and Egypt. (BBC)
