The People's National Party (PNP) is moving decisively to quell growing unrest among some of its supporters in North East St. Elizabeth, who are up in arms with the man who is set to replace Mr. Spencer as the Party's representative in the constituency.Attorney KD Knight, who has been asked to serve as mediator told RJR News he will meet with Mr. Spencer and Senator Basil Waite on Monday afternoon.The meeting will discuss the issues which have triggered unrest in the constituency.Some PNP supporters have declared that they will not be supporting Senator Waite in the run up to the next general election.Mr. Waite was selected as the Party's standard bearer in the constituency after Mr. Spencer declared that he would not be seeking re-election as he focuses his attention on clearing his name in the Cuban Light bulb affair.Last week a one page letter under an unrecognised signature and titled "Lack of Confidence in Basil Waite" was circulated to media houses. The letter, which was addressed to Mr. Knight, outlined in part what is reportedly growing disenchantment over Mr. Waite's leadership style.
