Dancehall artiste Mavado has cancelled this year's staging of his annual birthday bash of the LIME Real McKoy event.A statement from the deejay said: "We received a police permit on October 20 for the original venue, Coruba Beach Club, but were shocked to receive another letter from the same branch of the JCF revoking that permit just last week."The release also stated that Mavado has taken a huge financial loss in this endeavour as the promotion team did not spend any money on the show until the police permit was in place.It is further understood that since Mavado received the letter of refusal, at least three events have been held at that same venue.The statement said while alternative venues were sought, the logistics were just too much to take on at the last minute, therefore the decision was taken to pull the plug on the event for 2010.Mavado has also postponed his weekly show Stulla Wednesdays which was normally held at the Quad nightclub.
