The Fern Gully in St. Ann has been re-opened to vehicular traffic. After being closed following an accident on Saturday, motorists were again allowed to use the thoroughfare on Monday morning.Communications Manager at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, says the road was re-opened after a major clean up exercise."Well having worked to remove the oil that was deposited on the roadway resulting from the accident on Saturday morning, we have reopened the corridor at five this morning and so persons are now able to traverse the area in a safe way," Mr. Shaw said.Saturday's accident involved a bus which was transporting passengers from Kingston to St. Ann.The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle which hit an embankment and overturned. The passengers were taken to hospital, where six were admitted in serious condition.The impact of the accident caused the engine of the bus to explode, spilling oil along the road.
