A man charged in connection with the theft of cigarettes from a container at Port Bustamante was remanded when he appeared before the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday morning.He is 33-year-old Carlington Sirdine, a truck driver of Old Harbour, St. Catherine.He was charged two weeks ago with simple larceny, breaches of the Customs Act and conspiracy to simple larceny.Mr. Sirdine is to return to court on December 22.He was charged in connection with the theft of 120 cases of cigarettes, valued at $15 million, which were removed from an in-transit container that originated in Vietnam and was destined for Trinidad and Tobago.
