A large stash of Jamaican currency which the police seized during a recent raid at premises on March Pen Road in St. Catherine is still in police possession. The cash totaling J$2 million is being held by investigators until February 2011.Investigators say they are continuing their probe into the seizure to determine how the man who was held with the cash came by it.According to investigators, on November 27, members of the St. Catherine Street Crimes Unit assisted by personnel from other police formations, carried out an operation in the March Pen Road area.During a raid, the police went to a business place operated where a search was carried out and the large stash of cash found.The cash was seized and the business man was detained and taken to the Spanish Town Police Station.However investigators held on to the money as the businessman was unable to give a proper account of how he came into possession of the cash.
