The Bureau of Special Investigation (BSI) says four homemade firearms and nine 12 gauge cartridges were seized in the incident a shoot-out between gunmen and the police in Bath Mountain, Westmoreland about 7:20 p.m., on Saturday.Four alleged gunmen were killed in the incident.They have been identified as Dwight Green, 18 otherwise called "Paasa", Malik Heaven, 26, otherwise called "Oney", and his 28-year-old brother Montique Heaven otherwise called "Strugga" and Junior Bidal, 28, otherwise called "Bertie"; all from the Bath Mountain community.The men, who were all unemployed, were reportedly among a group of six men spotted in a car by a police team which was in Bath Mountain investigating a spate of robberies in the community.Two of the men reportedly fit the description of the robbers.Attempts to intercept the vehicle were unsuccessful and the men reportedly shot at the police team who returned the fire. Four of the men reportedly jumped from the vehicle and ran in separate directions but were later found suffering from gunshot wounds.They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.The other two persons, including the driver, escaped but the police believe they were also injured in the alleged shootout.The BSI is probing the incident.
