ACE sprinter Yohan Blake was impressive at the St Jago 20/20 Celebrity cricket match at Monk Street yesterday, taking figures of five for seven and a knock of 40 to lead his Yelllow team to an emphatic four-wicket win over the Garth Garvey led Green team. The match was put on by both Blake and Garvey, to help raise funds for the school's sports programme and was full of excitement, despite the late withdrawal of Blake's training partner, World 100 and 200 metres record holder Usain Bolt. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Green team got a good start from openers Sadiki Bolt and national senior representative Gavin Wallace, who put on 36 runs, before Wallace was out caught off the bowling of Calvin Walsh, for 13. Walsh also removed Bolt for 27, caught by Blake.Garvey, however, steadied the innings as he came in after Bolt and showed good form hitting 68, which included seven fours and five sixes. He got good support later on from national senior 400 metres record holder, Jermaine Gonzales, who chipped in with 22, which included two sixes and one four, as the team ended on 166 off their allotted 20 overs.Leading from the front, Blake with his medium pace took four wickets for a measly seven runs off four overs, with Walsh taking two for 17 off three. When Blake's Yellow team started their chase, they got off to a poor start and lost their first wicket with no runs on the board, as opener Oneil Wright was sent packing with the third ball of the innings, bowled. The team struggled a bit and at one stage were 63 for three, but Blake and his former schoolmate Aaron Daley Jr, featured in a face saving fourth wicket stand of 93. They brought the score to 156 runs. Both batsmen fell with the score on 156, as Daley made 53, which included seven fours and one six, while Blake's 40 included three fours and three towering sixes. This did not stop them from winning as they reached 169 for six with 1.2 overs to go. Bryan with two for 25 and Paul Harris with two for 27 were the top wicket takers for the losing team.Blake was very elated with the victory."I am happy to have come back to my school in a effort to help raise funds for the institution and also entertain supporters, especially the students as this is a sport I love so much. I could easily have participated for my school but the only reason I did not do so was because I came on a track scholarship," said Blake, who apologised for his training partner Bolt not attending."Usain had a hard day at practice yesterday and he was very fatigued last night and did not want to risk it coming to play today (yesterday)," said Blake.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...63287353714494
