The National Environment and Planning Agency, (NEPA), says the impact of a chemical leak along a section of the Portmore leg of Highway 2000 should be significantly reduced on Monday. Since Saturday, emergency response teams have working to contain the fumes from a leaking container at Kingston Container Terminals (KCT).It contains the pesticide - Butyle Mercaptan.The container was removed to an isolated area at the KCT facility late Saturday.Meanwhile, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has urged motorists travelling on the Highway to keep their windows up and air conditioning units off until they have passed the KCT facility.
