INVESTIGATORS say they are awaiting the results of DNA tests to confirm the identities of three men whose bodies were found in shallow graves at Westchester in Portmore, St Catherine, earlier this month. The probe into the men's deaths has been virtually hampered by the non-confirmation of their identities, Assistant Police Commissioner Les Green told the Observer on Monday."We think we know them all but we have to wait for the DNA tests. That is what we are waiting on now," said Green, who heads the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB)."Work (excavation) had stopped over there but it should continue in coming weeks; I don't know if they (investigators) have resumed there as yet," he added, noting that the probability of finding more graves on the partially vegetated property was high.Police have already given the names of two of the dead men as Clive Reid, 24, otherwise called "Jerky" of Washington Mews; and Esmond Morris, 32, of a Cumberland, Portmore, address. The name of the other man, whose body was headless, has not yet been ascertained. The man is estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25 years old. His body was clad in a multi-coloured T-shirt.It took the police three days to exhume the bodies, which were buried on a property for which a private hospital is planned. In the meantime, Green said citizens -- appalled at the gruesome discovery -- have been helping the police with their investigation."Persons have been co-operating with us. I think we have been doing well at the moment, but the DNA results are our main concern right now," he said.In June, investigators faced similar challenges while probing the death of 32-year-old District Constable Paul Bartley, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave in a section of Tivoli Gardens known as 'Rasta City' in West Kingston.Bartley's body was found in a kneeling position with its mouth gagged and hands tied behind its back. Two men have since been charged with his death.
