Six new faces are to be added to the senior officer corps of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). The promotions were announced Thursday night after being approved by the Governor-General following advice from the Police Service Commission and recommendations from the High Command and come approximately one week after Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington announced a massive shakeup in the senior ranks of the force.Those promoted include Assistant Commissioner of Police Delworth Heath, who is set to become the new Inspector-General of the JCF.He is to be promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner effective January 13.Five Senior Superintendents have been promoted to Assistant Commissioners.They are Dormah Harrison, the new head of the Strategic Review Implementation Team; Ealan Powell, head of the Criminal Investigation Branch; Elbert Nelson, who is in charge of the National Intelligence Bureau; George Quallo, who is to lead Mobile Reserve and Derrick Cochrane, the new head of Area Three. 13 new Senior SuperintendentsThirteen Superintendents and one Deputy Superintendent were officially promoted on January 1 to the rank of Senior Superintendent.The list includes Linette Williams Martin, who will shortly head the St.James Police Division; Dathan Henry, the Divisional Commander for Clarendon; Fitz Bailey, who is in charge of the Organised Crime Investigation Division; Radcliffe Lewis, the officer in charge of the Traffic Division and Anthony Castelle, who commands St. Catherine North Police Division.Some of the other appointees include James Forbes, the former boss of the Constabulary Communication Network; Que Morgan, Selvin Hay and Norman Heywood.Twenty seven Deputy Superintendents of Police were also promoted on January 1 to the rank of Superintendent.At the top of the list is Noel Christie, who was recently promoted to head the Portland Division; Andrew Lewis, who takes over the Trelawny Division; Cedric Allen, the new St. Mary Commander and Egbert Parkins, who will soon become the Divisional Commander for Westmoreland.
