After a slight decrease in gasolene prices last week, the state owned oil refinery, The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (Petrojam) has announced an almost $2.00 hike in the prices of the commodity. As of tomorrow, the price of gasolene will go up by $1.53. Motorist will have to pay $89.31 to buy a litre of E-10 87 gasoline, while E-10 90 will move up to $90.96 per litre. Petrojam says the upward movement is due to changes in the US Gulf Reference prices. The price of a litre of automotive diesel is to go up by $1.80 and the fuel will be sold for $89.96. A litre of kerosene will be sold for $91.32 following an increase of $1.94. In the meantime, a litre of propane cooking gas is to move up by $0.22 to be sold for $36.92. However, a litre of butane has been cut by $0.02 and will be sold for $45.71. As is customary, retailers will add their mark ups to the announced prices.
