POLICE ARE continuing their search for a man suspected of knowingly infecting his lover with HIV. Jamaican-born Jermaine Scott is being hunted after his ex told officers that he had infected her with the virus. The 27-year-old, who is believed to have lived in the UK for the past 10 years, has links to Merseyside, Wolverhampton, Huddersfield and London. A police spokeswoman said: "It is not believed that Scott poses a risk to the public as a whole. However there is potential for risk of harm to those in a domestic relationship with him. Detectives advise that any sightings be reported to police so that the information can be acted upon. "Additionally, we appeal to Scott himself to come forward and present himself at his nearest police station." Anyone who knowingly infects another person with HIV can be charged with GBH. Scott's ex, a mum-of-two from Cheshire, decided to make the complaint because she is worried that Scott could put other women at risk. The young mum is being supported by members of her family and close friends but is said to have endured taunts from former associates.
