Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU), Ambassador Dr. Marco Mazzochi-Alemanni, are to sign off on $3 billion in budget support from the EU, next Tuesday. The EU funds support increases in the level of discretionary expenditure available to the Government for strategic priorities. The funds will be disbursed in four tranches from two programmes. The programmes are the Debt Reduction and Growth Enhancement Programme and the Security Sector Reform Programme. In the meanwhile, the Cabinet is expected to this weekend go into its annual retreat to plan the 2011/2012 Budget.
