As the Police High Command intensifies its probe into the circumstances in which a member of the notorious Dawg Paw Gang was mistakenly released from custody a warning has been issued for him to immediately surrender.A brief statement issued on Friday night by the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) confirmed that Nicholas Nesbeth, who was picked up during an operation on Tuesday morning was released in error.CCN revealed that since the former gang member was discovered missing, the police have launched several operations to recapture him.It said Mr. Nesbeth should immediately turn himself in at the nearest police station. Administrative errorMr. Nesbeth, otherwise called 'Fire Key', was nabbed during a joint/police military operation in Sterling Castle, St. Andrew.However, word emerged Thursday that he was back on the run after administrative bungling by personnel at Mobile Reserve resulted in him being mistakenly released.It is not known when he was released, however, police insiders said the error was only realised on Thursday.A top level source in the Jamaica Constabulary Force told our news centre that more information on the puzzling incident should emerge Friday.It is understood that police teams went back into Papine, Tavern and Sterling Castle in search of him, without success.Mr. Nesbeth was captured one day after the alleged leader of the Dawg Paw Gang, Christopher Linton, was nabbed in a major operation in Elletson Flats, St. Andrew. Dawg Paw 'hostages'In the meantime, defence attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson, will be heading to court on Friday to seek the release of two women who were held in the company Mr. Linton.She told our news centre on Thursday night a writ of habeas corpus is to be filed in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate's Court.Mrs. Neita-Robertson says her clients were being held hostage by the fugitive, when he was captured, on Monday, in Elletson Flats, St. Andrew.The women, one of whom is a sales representative at a radio station, were questioned Thursday by detectives at the Half-Way-Tree Police Station.They are facing charges of harbouring a fugitive.However, their attorney insists that Linton ran into the house the women occupied in his bid to elude the police/military dragnet.
