Ousted Mayor of St. Ann's Bay Ivan Anderson is to reappear in court today to answer to the fraud charge brought against him. The case against Anderson stems from a real estate deal in which it is alleged that he failed to turn over $5 million for the sale of a parcel of land to a relative on whose behalf the sale was made. Anderson was charged with fraud following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Following the DPP's ruling, Anderson took leave from his duties as mayor and from other positions in the People's National Party (PNP). He was later stripped of his Mayoral title after which he resigned as Chairman of the St. Ann Parish Council. Anderson is out on $500,000 bail. As a condition of his bail, he was ordered to surrender his travel documents.
