The Police High Command has ordered an investigation into the circumstances under which a policeman was shot and seriously injured by one of his colleagues in Spanish Town, St. Catherine Tuesday afternoon. The injured cop is in hospital.The police have not issued any information on the incident.However, RJR News understands that the policemen, who are attached to the St. Catherine North Police Division, were on an operation when the gun of one of the officers accidentally went off, hitting his colleague in the back.The injured cop was rushed to hospital for treatment.Investigators have since seized the gun of the other policeman for ballistics testing, as an investigation has been launched into the incident.
