The Jamaica Labour Party's lead counsel at the Manatt/Dudus Enquiry, Frank Phipps, has responded to criticisms from the People's National Party (PNP) about his line of questioning during Monday's sitting. The PNP says it's concerned at what it described as the irresponsible actions of Mr. Phipps, in disclosing the identity and employment details of the wife of the former Commissioner of Police, Hardley Lewin. The Party is of the view that this could expose Mrs. Lewin to grave danger, given the sensitive nature of her employment. But when contacted on Monday night, Mr. Phipps challenged the claim. He said the information in question was previously posted on a website. "Maybe those who made the statement did not hear what took place at the Commission because I made it quite clear at the beginning of the hearing that that information can be downloaded from the internet, it's public knowledge," Mr. Phipps said.
