A lawyer for former Haitian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide has said that the exiled leader has no desire to be a destabilising force in the country. Ira Kurzban was speaking after it was confirmed that a new Haitian passport had been handed over for transmission to Mr Aristide in South Africa.Mr Kurzban said the former president just wanted to help the country.He was unable to say when Mr Aristide, who was ousted from Haiti by an armed revolt seven years ago, would return from exile.
