Reggae artiste Buju Banton is receiving accolades following his win on Sunday night at the Grammy Awards held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.His Before the Dawn album won over the late Gregory Isaacs' Isaacs Meets Isaac; Lee "Scratch" Perry'sRevelation; Bob Sinclar's Made In Jamaica; Sly & Robbie And The Family Taxi's One Pop Reggae and Andrew Tosh's Legacy: An Acoustic Tribute To Peter Tosh.It was Buju's fifth nomination for a Grammy.Olivia "Babsy" Grange, Minister of Culture has congratulated the entertainer."You know the Grammy's is an important award, it recognizes talent and so this award recognizes the musical talent of Buju. He has produced great music over the years and this album Before the Dawn adds to a collection of outstanding work and this has helped to bring to Jamaica and Jamaican reggae music great fame," Ms. Grange said.And Clyde McKenzie, Entertainment Consultant says Buju's Grammy win is a timely achievement."And this really puts a cap on a life of outstanding achievement musically.
