Haiti's National U-17 footballers will take no further part in the ongoing CONCACAF U-17 World Cup Qualifiers, being staged in the Western end of the Island. This comes as a result of 3 members of the Haitian delegation being diagnosed with Malaria, which leaves the Haitians unable to field a team for the remainder of the competition. The 3 team members were ordered by local Ministry of Health Officials to rest and take no further part in the team's activities. Haiti who were scheduled to play El Salvador this afternoon at Jarrett Park, lost their first match to Costa Rica by a score line of 3-1. The forfeiture of today's fixtures means that El Salvador will get 3 points as well as 3 goals. This now means that Costa Rica and El Salvador are assured to be in the quarter finals which get underway next week. Jamaica's U-17 team who had to come from behind yesterday at the Catherine Hall Stadium to secure a 2-2 draw with Caribbean Neighbours Trinidad & Tobago, had played a practice match against the Haitians a week ago, but officials say there need not be any alarm as to the health of the Jamaican players.
