The local export sector is starting to feel the effects of the decision by the United States authorities to place a three day ban on air cargo from Jamaica.The Jamaica Exporters' Association (JEA) is carrying out an assessment to determine the full impact on the sector.President, Vitus Evans, told RJR's Financial Report that one member reported that he had millions of dollars worth of goods at the airport waiting to be transported to the US.The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) says it expects that the 72 hour suspension on air cargo from Jamaica to the US will be lifted on Wednesday as scheduled. The suspension also includes air cargo from Jamaica to Canada and the Bahamas.
