One of the main trade unions in Antigua is calling out its members for a big march on Thursday to protest against government policies. The Antigua Trades and Labour Union says the policies of the Baldwin Spencer-led United Progressive Party government will cause further unemployment and hardship for its members.It's particularly critical of the sale of government assets and the government's borrowing programme especially with the International Monetary Fund.Late payment of wages is also a matter of concern to the ATLU.The Spencer administration has said that a severe economic downturn caused mainly by the global financial crisis has put a strain on government revenues.
