The armoury of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is be to reopened today. The facility, which is situated on Lower Elletson Road in Kingston, has been restructured and refurbished.Senator Dwight Nelson, the Minister of National Security, will be among those in attendance to observe the opening which is scheduled for 10 o'clock.The armoury was closed in January last year following a massive gun and ammunition find on Munster Road in St. Andrew.Several persons including a member of the JCF were arrested on February 4 after the police raided a house and seized 18 guns and 11 thousand rounds of ammunition.Investigators said they were stolen from the Police Armoury and were being sold to criminals. Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington subsequently ordered that an audit be carried out at the armoury.The audit was carried out by a team comprising members from the Inspectorate of the JCF and personnel from the Ministry of National Security.
