Can I get my dead dad's title for a property in Jamaica, in my name?

Hi I was wondering... if my father passed and the house title is in his name only  and i have been paying the taxes on the  house for seven years, can i get the title  in my name. I have also had the house surveyed. Tags: legalwise, notary public
