Jamindians, a Caribbean  Indian music celebration, was held on Sunday August 31, 2014. The day was filled with music, dance, games and food.  East Indians arrived in Jamaica on May 10, 1845 as indentured workers. They were brought to Jamaica to work on sugarcane plantations, banana estates, and livestock holdings following the abolition of slavery.
