Kingston is the capital and also the largest city of Jamaica.  It is situated on the south eastern coast of the island. The population of Kingston is 937,700.  The city boundary is 6 miles (9.7 km) to the West,  Stony Hill to the north, Papine to the northeast and Harbour View to the east, communities in urban and suburban St Andrew.  Kingston is made up of two parts -  the historic downtown and New Kingston.  These areas are served by Norman Manley International Airport and by our smaller and primarily domestic  Tinson Pen Aerodrome.

mi used to catch bus to go country out a six miles. wonder if anybody would know is where if mi did call it 9.7 kilometer

Stony Hill is Kgn 9 but mi still chuckle…back in my time it was still country….all u had was the market, the police station, the reform school, the post office, the catholic church, the gas station , the shops n bars along the stretch from above the Catholic church so go dung to the Anglican church….den dem build the new Anglican church across front the old n turn the old plot into a graveyard….use fi go dat Anglican church sometimes….n the homes around….nice place…..Father from that Catholic church kept that church n the surroundings looking spiffy….den him arrange the park in the square across from the gas station…mi figet the names of people who owned wat…knew them all as mi fada use fi visit dem pon Sundays….then they built the housing schemes past the Anglican church…a fren of mine parents were the developers…then a fren developed Hermitage area….all this was separate from old Stony Hill Rd developments…..memories…..use to drive thru fog go school a morning time…fi real...
