Using the traditional chocolate ball with cinnamon, this tea offers a true taste of Jamaica. For those who are not familiar with "Old Time Chocolate Tea" this is Jamaican style regular hot chocolate. In Jamaican patois it is called "Chahklit tea"
Ole time chocolate tea made from scratch. Me great grandmother had the coco trees in har yard. They pick the big brown pods. I don't quite remember the sequence but they were dried, parched, and pummeled in a motar and rolled into balls. One or 2 balls would make a pot of coco tea with johnny cakes and ackee and saltfish for supper especially during weather season (rainy time which I believe was in May and again sometime in the September/October) or at the end of the month when the monthly pay cheque nearly finished. You could see the oil on top of the mug but it was nice. We my siblings and cousins would dunk bammie or hard dough bread in the tea ...........memories. Last year I passed by the land and the trees are still there.
