Sorry if it resembles you Sir, that however will not cause any change or changes in my remarks. To your question let me tell you something your cousin may have forgotten to tell you.
Michael Manley use to beat up on Eddie and the JLP for spreading what he call lies about Jamaica abroad. So what do I know? I am giving him the benefit of the doubt so by his standard I would say; those abroad never get the facts about what is happening in Jamaica.
The Master teaches well, so don’t blame me for been a good student.

Lets be real, with all due respect to Dr. does he really believe he is the only economics that have analyze Jamaica’s problem then and now.

Now that’s one man opinion, much respect for that, that is okay, but the below line taken from his statement makes me wonder.

If the primary products for which he was seeking price increase, were Sugar, Bauxite, and Citrus. Did Jamaicans disagree with him? No, I would say 90% of Jamaicans including yours truly agreed with him and supported his effort, and that’s a fact, but that is not what is implied here.
That is not what done him in and the continuance of this line of argument is from the Anti Seaga, Anti-JLP. Pro Michael pro PNP. As one who believes in Democracy, one who respects the right of others to chose which political party they wish to support, I have no problem with statement as such, as I see it as defending their leader, their party and their system, fail or not. What tickles me is when neutrality or Nationalist is claimed.

By the way did you know that Seaga once touted the JLP as a Nationalist Party as a respond to Michael declaring the PNP a Socialist Party? I bet your cousin did not tell you that either.

The Jamaicvan pound was higher in parity to the US dollaryes,but it was split in 2 when the country switched to Ja.dollar.
In addition to the reality that the valus of the currency is not a true measurement of economic strength or weakness. All you have to do is to look at the Japanese Yen.

There is also a little thing as as the value of the Jamaican currency was actually a the result of the low import factor of the Jamaican economy,then,when it was stronger than the US dollar,as against higher import factors resulting from drastic price shift of goods imported from developed countries,along with drastically reduced or stable prices of exports ot the products the country exported.
this is because all prices for goods imported,and our own exports are controlled by the developed countries. The oil ptoducing countries of the midddle east,managed to take control of their exports to an extent,but no other primary producer has been able to decide the price of their export.
That is what Manley attempted to increase the price of our primary products,and all hell broke loose.
Primary producers in any field of production,represents a middle man position,rarely can one chave control unless they control the the markets for the foinal products.
Jamaica is a primary producer,cayman is a promary producer,Barbados is a peimary producer,and all the socalled economic powerhouses,that are not a developed country is and that is why their wealth,wherever,it is is only fleeting.
The majority economically challenged,in their enlightened self intrest,take their capital and run,They say it was communism,but unless that is adressed,the world will return to open and legal slavery,in the noyt too distant future.
And about "kunking the jerks",it may be the head you view as most unlikely.

Not trying to put you down because I can respect you as a person but your stance on Jamaica's economy just dont wash and most of your arguments sound like something you just made up because they are too far from the reality I know.

Talking about Japan etc might sound deep to the unenlightened but what this has to do with Jamaican politics and economics realy misses me. It sounds like we're talking about two different places.

As to thinking that I am the only economist on the board,there are many who call themselves economists.
Even have degree to,but how many of them ever attempt to analyze the real facts about the Jamaican economy at the period in question?

They all jump on the political band waggon,and swallow hook line and sinker,the communist bogey that was fed them,not realize that it was only a bait to catches fishes.
Most meople still do not realize that politics is a tool of economics,not the other way around.

Other than saying you are an economics teacher, you haven't said much else that deserves any credibility and even that deserves some serious considerations. Even an economist looking through his political party's eyes will not see the real facts.

Before you assign me to any party, particually the JLP because of the views I expressed, let me just say that I was a PNP supporter and organizer, even before I could vote, up until 1979 when I realized that Manley's political rhetoric was meant to decieve the poorer class and woo votes, nothing else! There was no "democratic socialism" and Michael Manley was no "Joshua".

Only when you get Michael Manly's glare out of your eyes can you see Jamaica's economic woes for what they really are, greedy politic pilfering and waste. Every PNP MP deserve to go to jail for misusing the country's financial resources! All dem can do is raise tax and devalue the dollar!

I dont believe that seeing Jamaica's politics or anything else from a distance, automatically affects the truth. What does is seeing it through the eyes of biased and uninformed people like Stephanie Black.

I am sure this chick never dreamt that her little fiasco would grow into this big a deal and now that it has, she must find it difficult to realize that it wasn't/isn't Seaga or the US government/Banks that has wrecked the Jamican economy but the PNP, PJ and his worthless parlamentarians.

I on the other hand was not involved in either organizations,though membership and representation invitation was exyended to me by both parties.
I am still not inclined to become a member of either. I am willing to work for Jamaica through which ever medium I find appropriate at the time.

I can see that you din't even have a passinf aquiantance with economics,or you would have recognized basic economic prinmciples in the statement I made after asmitting that I taught the subject.
