A group of Jamaican workers in Alabama in the US is suing their landlords and the apartment manager after carbon monoxide poisoning left four of them hospitalised.
The workers' attorney alleges an improperly ventilated water heater led to an excess build-up of carbon monoxide in November that nearly killed four of the workers.
Two Jamaican roommates spent two days in and out of oxygen chambers at a hospital.
Two others were airlifted to a medical centre.
According to the lawsuit, the five Jamaicans shared one apartment, paying $300 per person per month.

Their lawyer Clay Martin contends the roommates still
experience short-term memory loss, headaches and face hefty medical bills.
