A hero of mine in British poltics has died... He was a left winger.. He led a full life and to be honest he over the years has taught me a lot particularly the power importance, practicality superiority of the parliamentary system....An amazing raconteur, at times he made the mistake of believing like so many the moral agument of poverty... He . particularly to appreciate the value of the parliamentary system..He believed in the need for parliament to .he was for freedom of speech.-.. he was arrested a number of times demonstrating against all the right causes from nuclear disarment....to apartheid to the war ...He was for the importance of freedom of the press... and he was a pipe smoker!!!!!

He over the year has opposed every single war that the west has got into... He never took himself too seriously as he got older, he created Britoil a national oil company as Minister of Techonlogy was directly responsible for Concorde.. He gave up a peerage to stay in the parliament..
