Mayor of Kingston Desmond McKenzie says he is marked for dea

Mayor of Kingston Desmond McKenzie says he is marked for death.
The Mayor told a crowd of supporters attending the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) Area One Council meeting in Bull Bay, St. Andrew Sunday afternoon that his name is among several on a hit list of public officials.

"As far s I am concerned, I will never allow anybody, whether real or imaginary, to derail the work I am doing,"

"The only persons who can stop me from doing my work is the voters in the corporate area. I am not afraid," he said.

The Mayor made this disclosure as he was lamenting the murder of a public official, Jamaica Urban Transit Company Chairman, Douglas Chambers, just over a week ago.

Unless McKenzie has undergone some dramatic spiritual conversion over the past decade or two, I find the above extremely ironic.

I'm familiar with him and many of the others like him from when I worked with the local government ministry back home. Talk about feeding trough and corruption, even then they were all dipping.

CEW, But isn't that what they all do?... By asking Jamaican Politicians not to OVER-DIP is like asking a baby not to cry... It's the extent of the &quot;DIPPING&quot; by OUR officials from one of the poorest 3rd World Economies on earth that causes such ALARM and OUTCRY!

I agree, but it's ironic to see some of those who were dipping with all ten fingers talking about rooting out corruption which is almost endemic in our culture.

I take it as a given that there is no longer any credibility in what OUR polititians say or do. This takes the meaning of &quot;There is no honour among thieves&quot; to a completely new level... May God rescue Jamaica!!
