Hm the queen plays an important part in the running of all her commonwealth realms, she may not often directly benifit jamaica as much as she does the uk but she does never the less, plus she does not cost the jamaican tax payer, the queen helps the economy, internetional relations for jamaica, as well as being a brillient figure head. the royal family spen hours each and every day running the commonwealth, the commonwelth realms, and as they are also head of the church, and thousands of charitys, they have little time to spare.
my aim is to educate people on how good the monarchy is, and how it benifits you, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

Liam you seem to have an overrated view of the monarchy and the benefits to Jamaica.

I like the idea of the commonweath.. A collection of countries linked by a brutal history of conquest and subjugation in a lose tie where the leaders meet every few years. At the heart of the common wealth is a number of ideas

that the ideal goverment is liberal denocratic with a parliment. But it can vary
That there is a seperation of parliment from goverment
that there is a seperations of the branches of goverment
that the individuals has rights
The idea of haebeas corpus
that there is a role of non interference between members
that if there is an internal issue members can go quietly and tell the offder hold up in a quiet manner...

An amazing I like the Queen personally as the constitutional head of the common weath.( I will temper the fact wit the comment this only extends to the idea of the queen, I react like most Jamaicans to her image as why is it there ?????).. As add nothing to the Jamican tax to sponsor her welfare payments. this is a cheap head of state!

I have long been slightly embarassed by this.. However I discovered that post colonial leaders also shared this admiration for the lady.... Such men as Mandela, Jomo Kenyatta, Mugabe, Nhrumah, Manley, Busta,(The queen in a analagous repeat of washing the feet of servants went down on her knees to search for Nhrumahs lost walking stick..This simple human gesture did more to keep the commonwealth together than all the poltical posturing and ridiculous idea of a monarchy)...

She is even less formal with these leaders than with her own Prime Ministers.. She basically lectured Thatcher and told her of her disdain for her lack of interst in this institution...She actually found a greater empathy wit hthese emerging nations than her Prime Minister...And that is to be admired as her upper class germanic ancestry would suggest that she could be more of a proto fascist than a respecter of liberal democrasies....

I see poltical benifit from being part of the commonweath. Not because of the Queen but inspite of the Queen. If the queen was replaced by the Grimsby Monkey, it would make little diference..

I see no compleing reason to change the queen as head of state of Jamaica.. In fact I would oppose any one who attempts to make a change simply becvause there would be a cost associated with this change..

I see no economic benifit from the queen as head of state...

As for educating Jamaicans as to the non benifits that in my opnion is a singular waste of resources.. More urgent in my opnion is the need to educate Jamaicans in the its constituion and their individual rigths and <span style="font-weight: bold">responsibilities</span>...
