Their vision lit the way for countless generations after them, creating a society where people grew up with; hope, values, and an idea as to where they should be in their own society. Even when the tunnel was darker, people still had pride, and anticipation.

The present-day garrison communities are the anti-thesis of what a wholesome community should be. They represent the; greed, selfishness, deception, and narrow-mindedness, of today's aspirants to leadership.

The National Heroes set standards that only a few will ever be able to attain, by today's standards. These men, and a woman, were not ordinary people, they were a <span style="font-style: italic">cut above the rest</span>, even by international standards.</span>

<span style="font-weight: bold">They led from the front, fearlessly, and tirelessly, bearing the brunt of any consequences</span>. As a result, a significant number of them were martyred, and made no apologies for their decisions as leaders. No one had to set up committee to question the sensibility of their decisions. <span style="font-weight: bold">They stood up to a mighty nation, and were weighed, in the balance, and found not wanting, they were a <span style="font-style: italic">moral</span> force to be reckoned with</span>.

Even Nanny who was not brought up a Christian, was unquestionable as to the moral fiber that drove her to see her people through their darkest hour. She was steadfast in her resolve that her wisdom would prevail, and the sacrifices that were made would see her people through.

The legend that suggests that she was impervious to bullets suggest that she led from the front, never avoiding the most dangerous circumstances. Most likely her flesh was vulnerable to bullets, but such are legends, they appear to be immortal.

Sam Sharpe had no apologies for the uprising that he led, that was critical in influencing the British to end slavery...<span style="font-style: italic">they couldn't bear the losses</span>...
