The Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominique Strauss-Kahn is to arrive in the island on Tuesday for high level talks with senior Government officials and technocrats.
The Finance Minister said the IMF boss will spend 24 hours in Jamaica.
"He'll be arriving in the island at about 2:30 and he will have separate meetings with the Bank of Jamaica and myself and then he will meet with the Prime Minister on Wednesday morning. There will be other activities that culminate in a press conference on Wednesday and a luncheon with the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica. Thereafter he will depart from Jamaica," said Mr. Shaw.
Mr. Strauss-Kahn's visit comes as Jamaica increases its reliance on multilateral lending agencies which offer considerably lower lending rates.
The visit by the IMF boss is part of a three country tour of the Caribbean.
He will also visit the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
