Governor General resigns
Prime Minister Bruce Golding is to make a statement in parliament this afternoon regarding the resignation of Governor General Professor Sir Kenneth Hall.
The resignation was confirmed by the Jamaica Information Service (JIS).
The Governor General has advised the Queen of England and the Cabinet of his decision which he said was for health reasons.
Sir Kenneth was appointed on February 16, 2006 and was knighted by the queen in November 2007.
