Turkmenistan: French Firm To Lead Pipeline Consortium

French energy firm Total is likely to be the financing leader of a consortium for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, a source from Pakistan’s Petroleum Ministry said, Pakistani newspaper Daily Times reported Feb. 11, ahead of a meeting to finalize a deal on the project. Under a proposed deal, gas extracted from Turkmenistan will be exported to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Turkmenistan'snatural gas reserves are among the world's largest.
