BOJ Governor made more than Chairman of the US Fed Reserve

Mr Derrick Latibeaudier, former BOJ Governor was apparently dehired because the the terms of his contract was deemed to be highly unusual.

According to PM Golding, Mr. Latibeudiere was being paid $38 million a year – more than the chairman of the US Federal Reserve.

The Jamaican Prime Minister mat make more than the president of the USA too.
The difference is the perks.

I think its way too much.

The president of the US makes US$ 400,000 ( JAD$36 million)..the PM of Jamaica makes just about $JAD 6 Million - about US$80,000

Well I have a different view of the value of human skills than you. I think he was under paid.
All value are created by human skills. Not probably - definitely! Except for the past two years, Latti served while Omar Davis was Finance Minister. Pardon the expression, but those two were like two cheeks on the same backside. Little oversight went on. Plus - the governor is both Chief Executive of the BOJ and Chairman of its board.

As far back as the mid-90s, Latibeaudere was identified as one of the public sector &quot;phat cats.&quot;

the compensation has to bear some resemblance to the local market.
was the previous govenor compensated at the same level?

ETA: just like in the US the heads of government institutions are not compensated at the same level as the heads of private institutions even thought hey bring the same skills and qualifications.
