I seem to recall saying this a few months back and being told off on here.. But what yu know moody ect are not Taino! Mental slavery or what ?

Now here is my recommendation.. Shift your money into ghanian Cedi and Uganda Shilling...that is the next 5years these will revalue due to the Dutch Disease...

A leading trade unionist has added his voice to the growing number of persons who feel social unrest is inevitable next year given Prime Minister Bruce Golding's recent announcement of a two-year wage freeze for public sector workers.

National Workers Union (NWU) vice president, Granville Valentine, told the Observer in an interview that Golding's decision holds dire consequences for working-class Jamaicans. According to Valentine, this very same group, which has constantly borne the brunt of increased taxation, is again being asked to pay the country's bills given the shortfall in the budget.

&quot;When your working class starts rebelling it's not just from people holding up placards when some injustice has been meted out. We're talking about the people who produce, the ones who ensure that the country stays alive. People must rebel now because they can't send their children to school given the increase in educational and transportation costs. When you look at all that we'll have to do and then we're going to have to suck up a no-increase (in wages) with an impending gas price increase, it's a no-no,&quot; said Valentine.

Valentine added he was disturbed that no discussions were held with the trade unions with regard to the decision to implement the two-year wage freeze. He also expressed frustration at what he described as the silence of key players in the trade unions over their failure to respond to the Prime Minister's remarks.

&quot;I am very upset with certain people in the trade union movement who have certain powers and authority. I am not of the view that they treated the thing in the serious way that they should have. Neither this Prime Minister or no other prime minister in the future should ever again even think of doing that to the working class.&quot;

Valentine was also scathing of the government's new tax package, which he described as blatantly one-sided.

&quot;What we're practising in this country right now is the reverse version of Robin Hood where Robin Hood would rob from the rich and give to the poor; we're now robbing from the poor and giving to the rich. It is a typical example of what capitalism is. The few are fine and the many suffer,&quot; said Valentine.

He believes that the issue is further compounded when one considers that more working-class Jamaicans stand to lose their jobs next year.

However, he said that there is a need for more dialogue between the Government and employees in light of an increasing mistrust of the Golding administration.

&quot;Why don't we go into workplaces and start talking about the real issues that affect us and get feedback from the people? We haven't chosen to start with that. The ordinary man on the street has an opinion and many a time his opinion makes sense,&quot; said Valentine.

An estimated 40,000 Jamaicans have lost their jobs over the last year as a result of the global economic crisis. What is more, Valentine believes that the figure stands closer to 50,000 due to vast numbers of lost jobs not being reported.</span>


He is talking nonsense, nothing is in the hands of the Comrade NWU and the chiken backs. Jamaica is not coming out for them. All the JLP have to do is to keep replaying the NWU Commercial that they put on YouTube mocking Bruce Golding for suggesting growth like Cambodia. They even went as far to laugh at Man-A-Yard for wanting to return to the IMF.

No the Comrades and the so-called PSOJ want Jamaica to run not walk to IMF. The are without fire and the Comrade Trade Unionist is only making rumblings to scare the JLP.
Jamaicans know there is nothing to get if they go out into the streets except 18 more years of the PNP.

If I was Bruce I would try to patch up the Economy a likkle, open a factory or two, but put all the resources into fighting crime, keeping the hospitals running and the schools open.
This iteration of the JLP has no answers for the economy, they just don't have the brain-power but if Bruce make it where Jamaicans can work late or walk late safely you would be surprised how the human ingenuity will kick in and even things out.
