There are revelations that the US Government is on the verge of blocking the Bruce Golding administration
from continuing to access millions of dollars through a special levy on international calls terminating in Jamaica.

Mr. Paulwell whose revelations<span style="color: #FF0000"> rattled </span>an obviously <span style="color: #CC0000">peeved </span>Finance Minister Audley Shaw warned the government to use the funds dedicated for the specific purposes or face losing the privilege of collecting money on overseas calls terminating in Jamaica.

How would Jamaica handle a Cuban style economic embargo?

Cuba survived the embargo because it got rid of the business class and militarized the population.
They also had a relatively strong USSR then that was willing to subsidize theireconomy, insddition to give strong military support.

Can Jamaica achieve that?

I see this as just mere speculation. Jamaica is not likely to cause so serious a rift with Uncle to bring this about. Jamaicans by and large are great compromisers and will find a way to settle this impasse.
