JA crime fighters deny beheading claims by UK family
A family in the UK has been telling the British media that one of their own was beheaded in Jamaica by gangsters.
Father of eight, Ewart Hylton, disappeared on a trip to Jamaica but his relatives say evidence unearthed by the police suggest he was mutilated and murdered.
Meanwhile, investigators from Operation Kingfish are conducting investigations into his murder.
However, sources within the unit are dismissing claims that Mr. Hylton was beheaded.
According to investigators who spoke to RJR News, the burnt remains of a human were found in Mr. Hylton's X-5 BMW motor vehicle which was found burnt out in bushes in Cambridge Hill, St. Thomas on March 20.
The cops reported that there is no evidence that the body was mutilated.
Forensic and DNA tests are now being conducted to determine whether the body is that of Mr. Hylton.
A Kingston-based dentist who was reportedly last seen with Mr. Hylton has been questioned by Operation Kingfish, but according to the investigators he's not considered a suspect.
